With writing crafted to appeal to present popular taste and public interest, The New Journalist is incomparable to what has existed prior.

A native New Yorker, Tara Drinks is the proud creator and Senior Editor of The New Journalist, an Associate Editor for Understood.org and a Producer/Co-Host of 2nd Service podcast.

In this new era of journalism, Tara utilizes her love for the art of writing to deliver insightful and informative news in a distinguished fashion. With her vibrant personality and receptive energy, Tara created The New Journalist as a platform for stories that often overlooked yet are in need of being shared. TNJ is her first online publication of her journalistic endeavors.

Believing that all things are possible through Christ, Tara is adamant about pushing the black news culture forward. Her work has since been published on The Huffington Post, Reader's Digest, Mogul Millennial -- just to name a few.

Tara obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism from the University of Bridgeport, CT. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and of the New York Association of Black Journalists.
